Carrying the timeless songs of Rabindranath Tagore across oceans — from Kolkata to the heart of Atlanta.
Shrabanti Basu is a devoted Rabindrasangeet vocalist and educator, bringing the poetry and music of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore to audiences across North America.
Shrabanti's musical journey began under the guidance of her father, Nitai Chandra Basu, who laid the foundation of her love for music from an early age. She went on to receive formal training from the renowned singer Dr. Swapna Ghoshal, whose influence shaped the depth, authenticity, and grace that define Shrabanti's voice today.
While she holds a strong classical training background, Shrabanti specializes in Rabindrasangeet — Tagore's incomparable body of song — and brings to it a rare combination of scholarly fidelity and natural warmth. Recording at Basu Home Studio in Atlanta, her albums have earned widespread appreciation among Bengali music lovers worldwide.
Her three albums — এ পরবাসে (2023), নিদ্রাবিহীন (2024), and গানের পরে গান (2025) — each explore a distinct emotional landscape, from exile and longing to sleepless devotion and the eternal call of music itself.
From the debut album এ পরবাসে (2023) — one of Tagore's most luminous songs of awakening and joy.
